Memo From The Chairman

Sometimes When We Touch!

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I figured the title of this blog would get you to read it.  No, there's nothing smutty going on during the morning show.   Keep it clean, people!

We spoke with Canadian singer/songwriter/author Dan Hill this morning.

The song you likely associate with Dan Hill's name is Sometimes When We Touch from the mid-70's.   Even though that song has been played 5 million times in the US alone, Hill is much more than his signature tune.  Dan has also written songs for other artists such as Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Michael Bolton.  He is also an author.   A few years ago Dan wrote 'I Am My Father's Son' which was a memoir about his sometimes strained relationship with his Dad.  Also, if you have a moment, read his shocking article in Macleans about his son's brush with Toronto's gang culture.

Dan has a new CD out in early March entitled 'Intimate'.  You can sample a song from the new collection by visiting www.danhill.com

Dan Hill will be on stage at Showplace tomorrow night.  Our Catherine Hanrahan will introduce the show.  Tickets are available by calling the Showplace box office at 742-7469.

Another great show in downtown Peterborough!
