At I write this entry on February 25, 2009, I have no idea when 980 KRUZ will become 100.5 KRUZ FM. The 'techie' side of the switch to the FM band is in someone else's hands and all we can do now is wait. But it will happen, and soon.
One thing I do know is that my choice for our first official song on FM would be It's Getting Better by the Beatles (of course) . I know there are better tunes in terms of tempo and popularity. But I think the message of the song sums up our flip to FM. We're not abandoning our loyal audience at 980 AM; we're simply making everything 'better'. More music variety, the best radio news and information in the marketplace, and all in stereo.
That's the best part: we'll be stereo instead of monaural. That's like doubling the quality of our sound. I understand Corus Entertainment is doing the same to our salaries,
