Memo From The Chairman

Really? Another election?

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

So the Liberal party of Canada wants to force an election.

While you and I hustle and bustle through our days trying to make a living and pay our share of the GST, PST, income tax, gas tax, death tax, and tax on tax, and hoping to have some money left over to invest for the future, some idiots in a bubble called Ottawa want to waste a lot of our money on trying to get Ignatieff elected.

I'm no Rex Murphy or Alan Greig (CBC political commentators – I don’t have cable) but even I know that if an election were called today the Liberals wouldn't win.  It's a recession, folks.  Who among us wants to rock the boat right now?  Don't believe the reports the recession is over or almost over.  I'm seeing more uncertainty in my business dealings than I did 6 months ago.  We’re not out of the woods yet.   Besides, I think Canadians are so ticked at the prospect of another election wasting millions more of OUR MONEY, during a recession, that it could very well backfire on the Libs and result in a slim Conservative majority.   Wouldn’t that be a kick in the pants to Iggy – all the way back to the US?

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m not a Conservative-lover.  I have voted for just about every party that has ever fielded a candidate.  (Why isn’t there a middle-class, hard-working, in-debt candidate?)  But I do not want to see another election.  And I don’t think I’m alone in saying that.

All those in favour (or not), send a comment!
