'Tis The Season...For A Friendy Neighbourhood Competetion

Call it "Christmas Light Envy".  But, this weekend I'll be returning to our front porch...armed with a few more strings of Christmas lights and my trusty staple gun.

It all started earlier in the week, when our good neighbours Robert and Jean decorated the front of their house.  Brand new, state of the art, blinking LED snowflakes...and matching blue and white LED's outlining their porch.

Oooooh.  I could see the look in Lisa's eyes. Our exterior Christmas decorating attempt had been "out-lit" by our new neighbours, in their first Christmas season on the block...and this just won't do. This is not something to be taken "light"ly.   We need more lights....some shiny hanging balls...maybe one of those enormous snow-globe decorations...live reindeer grazing in the front yard - - whatever it takes...because we will not go down quietly. 

So, by Sunday night, I should be able to see the hydro meter spin like never before...then come indoors (with my fingers still firmly frozen to the staple gun) and peer into my neighbour's window to see their reaction.  All is fair in love and war...and Christmas decorating.  Bring it on!
