Alzheimer Society Walk for Memories 2010

 

January is Alzheimer Awareness Month and time for our annual campaign, Walk for Memories. Our INDOOR walk raises funds that are vital to our ability to serve the growing number of individuals in our community affected by memory loss, Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

 

 

Please help us raise funds and generate awareness as we host Walk for Memories in two convenient locations:

Lansdowne Place Mall, Peterborough:

The Knights of Columbus

 

 is holding its annual  FAMILY FUN DAY on Sunday January 31, 2010. It all takes place  at Merrylynd Farm in Douro 1 mile north of the Douro Arena on highway 28.   This years event will feature 13 teams of horses, a dogsled team and of course skating and tobogganing .  New this year is the cross country ski trail .  Family Fun Day   runs from 1:00 - 4:00 on Sunday Jan 31. The Knights will again have a food booth and lots of hot chocolate. Participants will want to bring toboggans, skates and hockey sticks. This is a charity event and donations will be accepted for the retired Priests pension fund.  All Knights of Columbus councils in the Peterborough area are cooperating to put this event on. Come ready for some real Canadian fun, suitable for all ages.

The TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)

 

Chapter of Keene is holding an open house next Tuesday January 26, 2010 at the Keene United Church on Second Street in Keene.  Open House is from 7:30 to 8:30p.m. and meetings are every Tuesday night from 7:30p.m.
