The Pig's Ear Tavern

 

presents their monthly "Blues for Food" series the first Saturday of the month from 2:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. (144 Brock Street, Peterborough, Ont.) A group of local musicians host the event along with a variety of special guests.

 

The suggested admission to the event is a $2 cash donation. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the YWCA Food Action Program.

4th annual Swords on Ice Show

 

Sunday March 8th from 6-8. All of our proceeds are going to the Heart and Stroke foundation.

 

An Open Call is now on to Recruit Volunteers and Judges for the annual Peterborough Science Fair,

 

which is open to students in Kindergarten to Grade 12, to be held on Tuesday, April 7 at Trent University.  Anyone interested in volunteering, as a judge or in another capacity, is asked to contact Marie Anderson in the department of the Associate Dean of Science, at 748.1011 x7202 or via e-mail at maanderson@trentu.ca.

 

SEARS DRAMA FESTIVAL TAKES TO THE STAGE MARCH 8TH-11TH.

 

Local high school drama groups will be learning and performing during the upcoming Kawartha District Sears Drama Festival being held at Showplace Performance Centre in Peterborough from Sunday, March 8 through Wednesday, March 11.  

 

The curtain rises at 7:30 PM with three different plays performed each evening.  For just $5.00 guests can attend all four nights of the festival.   Tickets are available for purchase from participating schools, and at the door of Showplace Performance Centre, 290 George St. N., Peterborough, each evening of the festival.  

 

 

Trent Chapter of Best Buddies,

 

an organization devoted to helping adults with intellectual disabilities will be it’s  annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Friday March 6th from 5-7 at George Street United Church (on the corner of George and McDonnell).  For more info call 705-772-5446.
